Job description

Our client is a very well-established Ship Management Services company who have been in operation since 2002 and due to expansion my client is currently seeking to recruit an Accountant with 2-3 years’ experience preferably in shipping to join its dynamic team.

Job Overview: Primary responsibility is to be a part of the accounting team and undertake the responsibility to prepare and process financial transactions related to shipping management activities within the organization. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles specific to the shipping industry.

Job Duties

Key Responsibilities:

• Record and process transactions.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Work together with the rest of the accounting team to ensure that accounting records are up to date daily.
• Work closely with other departments and vendors to reconcile invoices and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare Statement of Accounts for Owners
• Preparation of cash flows
• Bank reconciliations
• Assist in preparing regular financial reports to management.
• Stay informed about relevant shipping regulations, tax codes, and accounting standards.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent command of the Greek and English language (both verbal and written)
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and team work skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
