Our client is a Payment Service Provider based in Limassol and they are looking to recruit a seasoned Head of Technology Development from within the financial industry who will be responsible for design, development, and deployment of mission-critical software systems

Job Description:

The ideal candidate is a proven leader with a hands-on approach to managing development teams and a strong track record of delivering scalable, secure, and compliant financial  technology solutions and will have around 10 years of experience in the financial industry.

This role involves managing and coordinating external development teams in building a payment gateway platform and core banking system modules, ensuring technical excellence, security, and alignment with business objectives.

Job Duties

• Strategic Leadership:
  
  Lead the technical vision, strategy, and execution for payment gateway and core banking system projects, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  
  Product Development Leadership: Define and drive the company’s technology strategy to ensure scalable solutions for the company’s strategic objectives
  
  Team Oversight:
  
  Direct and manage external development teams, maintaining high standards for quality, security, and performance.
  
  Hands-On Development:
  
  Provide technical guidance and hands-on expertise when needed to address critical development challenges.
  
  System Architecture:
  
  Collaborate with stakeholders to design secure, scalable systems and applications tailored to payment processing and transactions.
  
  API Integration:
  
  Oversee seamless integration of third-party APIs and internal systems, ensuring functionality and user experience excellence.
  
  Compliance & Security:
  
  Ensure all solutions meet strict financial industry standards,including PCI DSS and data encryption requirements.
  
  Project Management:
  
  Monitor project progress, enforce deadlines, and ensure deliverables meet technical and business expectations.
  
  Continuous Improvement:
  
  Drive innovation and improvements to system performance, reliability, and scalability.
  
  
  

Job Requirements

Required Experience & Expertise

Financial Industry Expertise:

10+ years of experience in the financial technology industry, focusing in payment systems and banking solutions is a must

Proven previous experience as a CTO or a Technology Lead of managing and leading developers to deliver large-scale financial technology projects.

Technical Proficiency:

Hands-on experience in at least two programming languages: Java, Python, PHP, C#, Ruby, or JavaScript.

Familiarity with Node.js, Django, Ruby on Rails, or Spring Boot frameworks.

Expertise in database management (SQL and NoSQL databases like MySQL,PostgreSQL, or MongoDB).

Payment Gateway Knowledge:

In-depth knowledge of payment gateway architecture, transaction workflows, and integration with banking systems.

Compliance Knowledge:

Solid understanding of PCI DSS, security protocols, and regulatory standards.

Leadership & Management:

Experience leading external and internal development teams.

Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams and complex software projects.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Front-end development knowledge (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).

Familiarity with banking operations or financial transaction workflows.

Seniority Level:

This is a senior leadership role requiring technical and managerial expertise.
