Head of Legal & Compliance - iGaming / Casino Industry (VAC-A3328)

Job description

Our client is a fast-growing B2B2C company, within the iGaming industry and they are looking to onboard a Head of Legal and Compliance.

It is important and a must that the candidate has experience and background within the following industries : Preferable iGaming or Casino.

Other industries will be taken into consideration coming form B2B or B2C industries like Forex, Fintech, Online entertainment, Online Marketing  and PSP ( Payment services providers ).

Job Summary: 

As a Senior / Head of Legal and Compliance Officer, you will play a key role in managing legal matters related to contracts, third-party agreements, and compliance within the gaming industry. You will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure that the cpmpany operates within the legal frameworks of various jurisdictions, supporting the company’s growth in regulated markets. 

This position requires 5 - 6 years of experience, primarily in legal roles, with a solid understanding of contract law, third-party agreements, and some exposure to compliance and regulatory requirements in the iGaming industry.

Job Duties

Responsibilities:

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, third-party agreements, and other legal documents related to the company's gaming operations.

Ensure contracts with third-party providers, including vendors, affiliates, and partners, are in compliance with local and international laws.

Collaborate with the business development and procurement teams to ensure legal accuracy and risk management in agreements.

Provide legal advice on issues related to contracts, gaming regulations, and potential risks in expanding into new markets.

Support internal teams (e.g., product, marketing, operations) by providing legal guidance on day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.

Ensure adherence to iGaming regulations, including drafting and maintaining internal policies that meet regulatory standards.

Support the process of acquiring and maintaining iGaming licenses across multiple jurisdictions.

Stay informed about changes in iGaming regulations and provide legal insights to ensure the company’s operations are compliant.

Promote a compliance-oriented culture within the organization through policy implementation and regular updates on regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in law or a related field; additional qualifications in compliance would be an asset.

5-6 years of experience as a commercial/contract lawyer roles, with a focus on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating business contracts and agreements

Some exposure to compliance matters in the iGaming or related industries.

Strong understanding of legal frameworks and regulatory environments within the gaming industry, particularly in Europe.

Experience in reviewing and negotiating contracts and agreements related to gaming operations, vendors, and third-party providers.

Ability to provide legal advice on compliance issues.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills with an ability to work across different departments.

Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
