Job description

Our client, a Charity Shop based in Limassol, is looking for a part-time Shop Manager to join their team. The Charity Shop Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the shop, ensuring it runs efficiently, is well-stocked, and provides a welcoming environment for customers and volunteers. They must have a passion for the role, demonstrating a positive attitude, strong leadership, and a commitment to the charity’s mission.


Job Duties

Responsibilities:

  • Shop Operations & Sales:
  • Oversee the daily management of the shop, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
  • Maximize sales and donations while maintaining high standards of customer service.
  • Ensure the shop is clean, well-presented, and complies with health and safety regulations.
  • Regularly update social media pages to promote available stock, special promotions, and fundraising events.

Stock Management:

  • Oversee stock donations, sorting, pricing, and display to maximize income.
  • Maintain accurate stock levels, ensuring a good variety of fresh and seasonal items.
  • Encourage and coordinate stock donations from the public and local businesses.

Staff & Volunteer Management:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and staff, ensuring they feel motivated and supported.
  • Lead by example with a positive attitude, fostering a welcoming and inclusive team environment.
  • Ensure all team members understand their roles and are aligned with the charity’s values.
  • Financial & Administrative Duties:
  • Handle cash, banking, and shop finances in line with charity policies.
  • Maintain accurate records, including sales reports and stock inventories.
  • Ensure compliance with financial and legal requirements.

Marketing, Social Media & Community Engagement:

  • Promote the shop within the local community and build relationships with donors.
  • Take responsibility for social media postings, regularly updating followers about new stock, special promotions, and events.
  • Organize fundraising initiatives and local events to drive sales and awareness.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Passion for the role and commitment to the charity’s mission.
  • Retail management experience, preferably in a charity or nonprofit sector.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with a positive and professional attitude.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work with and motivate volunteers from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in stock control and merchandising.
  • Basic financial management skills, including handling cash and budgets.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and ability to manage shop promotions online.
  • Knowledge of the charity retail sector and fundraising.
  • Experience in event planning and community engagement.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends if required.
  • A friendly, professional, and approachable demeanour.

Working Hours:

Tuesday – Saturday, 4 hours per day

May be asked to work on Mondays when required (overtime will be paid)
