About the Role
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Reconciliation Officer to join our Financial/Accounting Department at our Head Office in Nicosia, Cyprus. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the accuracy of our financial transactions by reconciling accounts and financial records. Reporting to senior management, you will support the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, maintain accounting controls, and liaise with both internal teams and external partners to deliver on key business objectives.
Job Duties
- Key Responsibilities
• Perform weekly and monthly reconciliations for payment providers.
• Acquire and manage data from primary and secondary sources, ensuring database accuracy.
• Analyse and monitor internal and external payments to ensure adherence to budgetary requirements.
• Provide feedback and reports to management and other departments regarding reconciliations.
• Collaborate with internal teams, auditors, banks, and payment service providers for reconciliation and reporting purposes.
• Reconcile reports from system databases and electronic trading platforms daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Prepare, review, and disseminate financial reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
• Manage financial databases, monitor financial systems, and ensure reporting deadlines are met.
• Address discrepancies and errors, coordinating with the support team as necessary.
• Prepare invoices, correspondence, and both physical and virtual file compilations.
Relationships
• Internal: Work closely with departments to resolve reconciliation and accounting matters, share best practices, and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
• External: Interact with auditors, banks, payment service providers, and credit card clearing authorities to ensure smooth financial operations.
Job Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in reconciliation or accounting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting and auditing principles.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, reporting, and formatting.
• Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Self-motivated, organised, and capable of meeting tight deadlines.
• Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
