Risk Manager (hybrid) (VAC-A3084)

Job description

Our client, a Global Cryptocurrency Company in Nicosia, is looking to recruit a Risk Manager with at least 3 years experience in a CySEC regulated Company and with experience with CySEC reports.

Job Duties

• Develop and implement risk management frameworks, methodologies, and tools specific to Backpack EU’s business profile, including liquidity risk assessment, and stress testing.
• Identify, measure, and monitor key risk factors affecting Backpack EU, such as market risk, counterparty risk, and liquidity risk.
• Conduct ongoing risk assessments and scenario analyses to evaluate the potential impact of adverse market conditions or unexpected events.
• Collaborate with compliance officers to ensure that business strategies adhere to risk limits, guidelines, and applicable policies.
• Participate in the development of risk management reports, presentations, and client communications, conveying complex risk concepts and insights in a clear and concise manner.
• Stay informed of industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging risk trends related to the industry, and proactively identify opportunities to enhance risk management practices.
• Foster a culture of risk awareness, transparency, and accountability across the organization, promoting a collaborative and disciplined approach to risk management.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field. An advanced degree (e.g., MBA, CFA, FRM) will be considered an advantage.

CySEC Advanced Certificate is a must.

CySEC AML Certificate would be considered an advantage.

At least 3 years experience in a CySEC regulated Company

Minimum of 3-5 year in risk management, preferably within a MiFID II firm and Crypto exchange, investment management firm, or financial institution with exposure to alternative investment strategies.

Strong understanding of the Crypto industry

Strong understanding of risk management principles, methodologies, and best practices, with specific expertise in risk analysis techniques relevant to alternative investments.

Proficiency in risk management software, analytics tools, and data visualization platforms.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present complex risk concepts to senior stakeholders.

Analytical mindset, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in assessing and mitigating risks.

Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple deadlines and competing priorities.

Commitment to integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct in all aspects of risk management and decision-making.

Experience with CySEC Reporting obligations (IFR/XBRL reports) is a must

Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

Working hours:

The working hours are 9am-6pm, Monday to Friday (hybrid role, 2-3 days working from home)
