Part-time Accountant (VAC-A3025)

Job description

For a growing accounting, audit and advisory firm in Nicosia we are looking for a part- time Accountant.  The expected commitment is 25-30 hours per month with the prospect of increasing. One of the engagements, however, has a deadline which is the 15th day of the following month. In other words, the accounting records of October for example, must be completed by the 15th of November and so on. freelancer accountant. Our client is not looking for someone with a full-time day job who wants some extra income and will do this on the side, they prefer to hire a freelancer accountant. Starting date: as soon as possible.

Job Duties

• Maintaining the accounting records for a group of clients
  
  Issuing invoices on behalf of clients
  
  Temporary tax computations
  
  VAT returns preparation and submission
  
  Bank/ Debtor/ Creditor reconciliations
  
  Preparation of management accounts
  
  Participation in meetings with clients
  
  Reporting to Management
  
  
  

Job Requirements

Excellent command of the Greek and English languages – both written and spoken

At least 5 years of solid accounting experience

Knowledge of accounting software packages

Knowledge of Taxisnet, Tax Portal and Tax For All platforms

Understanding of direct tax and VAT principles

Initiative and critical thinking

Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills

Good team player

The person has to be based in Cyprus and preferably in the Nicosia area for practical reasons, in case for example documents need to be collected or delivered.

Working hours:

Flexible working hours during office hours with the option to work from home (Not evenings and weekends. 100% working from home is possible if desired
