Job description

A well-established forex company in Limassol is looking for a Senior Risk Manager to create and oversee risk management strategies to safeguard the company's trading activities. This role requires a thorough individual with a deep understanding of financial markets, risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory compliance.

Job Duties

Risk Assessment and Analysis:

Evaluate potential risks associated with trading activities, including market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk, and operational risk.

Conduct thorough analysis of market trends, economic indicators, and geopolitical events to anticipate potential risks and their impact on trading operations.

Develop risk assessment models and methodologies to quantify and prioritize risks effectively.

Risk Mitigation Strategies:

Devise and implement comprehensive risk management strategies to minimize exposure and protect the company's assets.

Collaborate with trading desks and senior management to establish risk tolerance levels and implement appropriate risk controls.

Monitor trading positions and market conditions in real-time to identify emerging risks and implement timely risk mitigation measures.

Policy Development and Compliance:

Develop and maintain risk management policies, procedures, and guidelines in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Ensure adherence to regulatory standards (e.g., MiFID II, Dodd-Frank) and internal compliance policies related to risk management.

Stay updated on regulatory developments and industry trends to proactively address emerging compliance issues.

Reporting and Communication:

Prepare regular risk reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key risk metrics, trends, and potential areas of concern.

Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including traders, risk analysts, and regulators, to facilitate transparency and collaboration in risk management efforts.

Provide expert advice and guidance to internal teams on risk-related matters, fostering a culture of risk awareness and accountability.

Continuous Improvement:

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of risk management processes and systems.

Conduct periodic reviews and stress tests to evaluate the robustness of risk management frameworks and identify areas for improvement.

Actively participate in risk management forums, industry conferences, and training programs to stay abreast of evolving risk management practices and technologies.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field.

Professional certification in risk management (e.g., FRM, PRM) is desirable.

Proven experience (5+ years) in risk management roles within the financial services industry, preferably in forex trading or investment banking.

Deep understanding of financial markets, trading instruments, and risk assessment methodologies.

Strong analytical skills with proficiency in quantitative analysis and risk modeling techniques.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different functional areas and levels of the organization.

Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards governing financial markets (e.g., MiFID II, Dodd-Frank).

Proficiency in risk management software/tools and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions under uncertainty.

Working hours:

The working hours 8-9:30 to 17:00 – 18:30 (flexible, 8 hours per day). This is an onsite job.

The company is offering a salary of 4,500 – 6,000 Euros gross based on skills and experience, medical insurance, provident fund and lunch allowance
